Hoyle, Tanner has provided structural engineering services for several InnSeason Resort projects including this 4 story wood-framed condominium addition project at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire. The 66,000 sf structure is to be built in two phases and offers large rooms and views of ski trails from balconies.
The framing consists of open-web wood trusses, in an acoustically-rated assembly, on load bearing wood walls with a mixture of conventional wood and pre-fabricated metal shear wall systems. An additional basement story was added to mitigate the presence of landfilled bark from an historic paper mill.
Hoyle, Tanner worked closely with the architect and the contractor to select and detail systems that were both cost efficient and wouldn’t have a negative impact on the construction schedule.
