Project Summary

Hoyle, Tanner provided construction engineering and administration service for the reconstruction of Runway 17-35. The purpose of the project was to reduce the runway width from 150’ to 100’ in accordance with current FAA design standards and to install EMAS crushable concrete blocks in the safety area at each end of the runway. EMAS beds were installed to meet current FAA safety area criteria. Hoyle, Tanner provided construction oversight, coordinated with stakeholders, arranged material testing, maintained daily reports, measured installed materials, reviewed and approved contractor pay requests, prepared change orders, prepared as-built documents and the FAA close-out report. This project was phased to allow minimal disruption to existing aircraft operations.
