Rockingham Road Traffic Study

Derry, New Hampshire

Client: Town of Derry, New Hampshire

  • Data Collection
  • Traffic Study & Analysis

Project Summary

Derry is a vibrant south eastern New Hampshire community with the 4th largest population in the state and crowding. As such, the Town selected Hoyle, Tanner for planning services relating to foreseen land redevelopment and the need to provide its residents with an adequate road/water/sewer infrastructure system along Rockingham Road.

Hoyle, Tanner first sought to collect and compute existing relevant traffic data, GIS data, and maintenance history along the entire length of Rockingham Road and a segment of South Main Street. With the area zoned from industrial to residential with a medical facility centered within the study area, numerous land-using types presents a challenge to appropriately balance the infrastructure needs with cost, context, safety and public opinion.

The Town of Derry intends to utilize Hoyle, Tanner’s recommendations as the framework to steer developers toward their vision of providing a suitable community for it’s residents, businesses and roadway users.
