Project Summary

Hoyle, Tanner provided a drainage study and associated design improvements for the municipally owned and operated Pine Meadows Golf Club. The existing site consisted of approximately 60 acres, with Kiln Brook flowing through an interior pond and dam structure. The Golf Club was experiencing continuous washouts and overtopping of cart paths and the dam structure which required frequent maintenance and reconstruction.

A drainage study was performed for the upper 200+ acre watershed that contributed to the interior pond. Included in the analysis were closed drainage systems for the existing developments, open areas and portions of Route 128.

A complex existing conditions model was built in HydroCAD that confirmed the existing dam structure was being overtopped in lesser storms, including the 10 year storm. Hoyle, Tanner proposed reconstruction of the existing dam by designing a new dam outlet structure while utilizing the existing dam wall. The post development condition was designed for the dam to operate properly in the 50 and 100 year storms, including the flexibility to drain the pond in the winter months.
