Hoyle, Tanner designed an upgrade and expansion of the City’s Bartlett Bay wastewater treatment plant, increasing the plant’s capacity from 0.80 million gallons per day (mgd) to 1.25 mgd. The upgrade included biological nutrient removal for phosphorus removal, effluent polishing with cloth disc filtration, ultraviolet disinfection and a new 18″ lake outfall. Hoyle, Tanner conducted a Facilities Plan Review Workshop to provide an intensive critique of the preliminary plans and to evaluate alternative design issues including process selection, plant layout, construction staging, building configurations and equipment selection. A team of design engineers, regulatory staff and City personnel were assembled for the two day workshop which resulted in significant cost savings and improvements in constructability, operator convenience and process reliability. Construction Administration was also included.
