Employee Spotlight: Shawna Fournier

  1. What drew you to Hoyle, Tanner originally?
    1. Well, I was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years raising my children and had just completed my first degree. I applied at a temp agency and then received a call that they needed help for a couple of days… 11 years later and here I am [chuckles].
  2. What do you like most about working at Hoyle, Tanner?
    1. I love working for Hoyle, Tanner… we are a solid company. We have a good reputation and that is something that I am proud to be part of. Also coming from a non-engineering background, I have really grown to like the engineering industry especially our private clients – they are all great people.
  3. Can you talk about a favorite memory or proudest moment here?
    1. My proudest moment would probably be, when Bill Davidson became the profit center manager and our office was able to shift gears profitability wise after the recession – it finally felt like we had a strong team. I also have an ‘I Told You So’ moment… when Chris Mulleavey was appointed President because I knew years ago he was working to make a difference here.
  4. What is your favorite pastimes outside the office?
    1. Spending time up north and snowmobiling with my husband Chris, as well as spending time with my three children and my two amazing grandsons. I also love wood burning.
  5. If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?
    1. My family, snow (because everything is better in snow) and my husband’s tools… tools you ask?! Yes my husband is a jack-of-all-trades and has a huge collection of tools from just about every skill there is. This way he could use them to build or make me ANYTHING that I may need.
  6. People would be surprised if they knew?
    1. My husband and I were high school sweethearts, we met at 15 and have been together for 30 years, and married for 24. I am also a 42 year old grandmother (Gigi) of 2!
  7. Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
    1. Yes, – Do it with passion or don’t do it at all.
  8. What did you want to be growing up?
    1. I wanted to own an orphanage to help children.
  9. If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?
    1. God is the only “who” I can think of. Being God would allow me to bring my brother back – I miss him terribly.
  10. If you won the lottery today, what would be the first thing you would buy?
    1. A one-way ticket to ALASKA!
