Hoyle, Tanner has served numerous federal, state, industrial, commercial and private clients with structural engineering services. Our staff is experienced in the design and rehabilitation of all types of specialty structures including buildings, towers, tanks, retaining walls and parking facilities. We are also well versed in design or rehabilitations in steel, concrete, prestressed concrete and timber.

Parking Facilities

Hoyle, Tanner provides inspection, evaluation, rehabilitation design or new designs for parking facilities (garages and lots). Maintenance program services are also provided. Our experience with structural facilities (garages) includes concrete, precast concrete and steel configurations.

Retaining Walls and Minor Marine Structures

Our team of engineers has designed thousands of square feet of retaining walls of all types and sizes, including cast-in-place concrete, mechanically stabilized earth (MSE), gabions, modular concrete, sheet-piling, segmental and others. One of our larger retaining wall projects includes the MSE retaining walls constructed as part of the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport Entrance Road and runway extension projects. Hoyle, Tanner utilized segmental MSE walls, MSE panel walls and modular concrete walls to meet the needs of the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport Authority.

Hoyle, Tanner has also designed or inspected small-sized marine structures including decks, wharfs and marine bulkheads. Some designs have included new steel sheet-piling bulkheads for small marinas.

Above Ground Storage Tanks

Services include storage tanks for potable water, petroleum and other liquids. We provide inspection, evaluation, code review and rehabilitation of existing tanks and the planning and design of new tanks. Our staff is OSHA certified for confined space entry for tanks and appurtenances.

Potable water tanks may include prestressed concrete, cast-in-place concrete, or steel tanks (ground level or elevated). Our team has rehabilitated or designed numerous tanks conforming to American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards.

Petroleum for bulk fuel oil, heating oil, gasoline or other fuels include at grade steel tanks. Our team has designed new tanks or rehabilitated existing tanks in conformance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards.
