This bridge carries two-way traffic, with one lane of traffic in each direction, and is on one of Manchester's busiest streets; therefore traffic control played an important role in the design process for the rehabilitation of this historic twin stone arch bridge built in 1894. Services Provided

Coordination of the many utility issues was an important factor throughout the duration of this project. Hoyle, Tanner assisted the City in applying for and receiving municipal bridge aid funding from the NH Department of Transportation, which paid for 80% of the project costs.
Project Awards The Manchester Highway Department and Hoyle, Tanner received an award for the restoration of the South Main Street Bridge at the 11th Annual Preservation Awards Banquet, organized by the Manchester Historic Association. The award was in the category of historic city landmark preservation. |
