River Road Bridge Replacement

River Road is a dead end road with no outlet. Replacement of this bridge required that access be maintained at all times to the residences on the far side.

Project Challenges

Some challenges included extensive historic resources research due to the bridge's contribution to the significance of the Gilmanton Iron Works Historic District and determination of the southern boundary of the district.

The bridge was replaced with a self-contained precast concrete rigid frame.
