Designed and prepared construction documents for this marine facility to berth barges carrying general cargo as well as other vessels with drafts up to 25 feet. The 350-foot-long wharf structure is a precast concrete deck and girder system supported by rock-socketed concrete-filled steel pipe piles. The barge wharf deck is designed to carry 1000 psf live loading as well as loads from a 250-ton crawler crane. A tied-back sheet pile curtain wall system retains the filled land area used for staging. Construction of the berthing area required 36,000 cubic yards of dredging and rock excavation.
