Hoyle, Tanner Selected for Terminal Improvements at Portsmouth International Airport at Pease |
|
|
At the October meeting of the Pease Development Authority (PDA), the Board voted to approve a contract for Hoyle, Tanner to proceed with design of terminal improvements, with our subcontractor, Fennick/McCredie Architecture, that will allow Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM) to respond to potentially significant growth in domestic air passenger service. This is a big happening for Hoyle, Tanner as it will entail a large amount of work in the short and mid-term future. But, more significantly, the Board’s vote was an affirmation of the long held belief in the potential of Pease to be a major player in the air transportation system of New England. This will, ultimately, put “more wheels on the runway”. Hoyle, Tanner has been working with Pease toward this result since the base was announced to be closed in 1989. The PDA’s vote will go a long way toward realizing the air carrier potential Hoyle, Tanner first outlined in the Pease comprehensive master plan of 1995. It is very gratifying that the PDA continues to look to Hoyle, Tanner for its airport engineering and planning services. That has happened because of the efforts of a significant part of the company – staff at several different offices – who have provided a consistently high level of service to the PDA Board and staff on a wide variety of projects. |
