Oregon DOT Selects Hoyle, Tanner Team for ConnectOregon II Technical Feasibility Review

Hoyle, Tanner, teamed with the Sorin Garber Consulting Group of Portland, Oregon, has been selected by the Oregon Department of Transportation to provide technical feasibility review of ConnectOregon II project applications.

ConnectOregon is a lottery-bond-based initiative first approved by the 2005 Oregon Legislature to invest in air, rail, marine and transit infrastructure. This key strategy ensures Oregon's transportation system is strong, diverse and efficient. ConnectOregon is focused on improving the connections between the highway system and the other modes of transportation to better integrate the components of the system, improve flow of commerce and remove delays.  The first major funding initiative targeted multimodal (non-highway) transportation to help make the most of the public's investment in Oregon's transportation system.  This initiative is already attracting and sustaining business and jobs in Oregon and ensuring Oregon is connected to world markets.

The 2007 Oregon Legislature approved a second authorization of $100 million for the ConnectOregon program. ConnectOregon II will build on the success of ConnectOregon I and will continue to improve the flow of commerce, remove delays and improve safety.

Projects may involve one or more of the following modes of transportation improvement projects:  freight, air, marine, rail, and public transit.  Applications for ConnectOregon funding may be submitted by local or regional governments, non-profit organizations and private sector businesses or a combination thereof.

Hoyle, Tanner’s task to screen the aviation applications for ConnectOregon II uses the firm’s depth of aviation project experience, familiarity with FAA and state funding processes, and familiarity with the State.
