Hoyle, Tanner was recently selected by the NHDOT for final bridge, roadway and dam design and associated environmental services for the replacement of the existing bridge carrying I-95 over the Taylor River in Hampton.

The NHDOT has already prepared preliminary design alternatives in cooperation with key stakeholders, including NHDES, the Towns of Hampton and Hampton Falls, NH Fish & Game, and the US Fisheries and Wildlife, among others.  The early identification of project specific challenges has steered the design, resulted in public support, and enabled the NHDOT to successfully move forward with final design.  This project includes replacement of the bridge, dam, and fishway while preserving and enhancing the scenic and environmental qualities of the area for travelers and residents.

A unique roadway aspect of the final design will be the development of a four-lane median crossover used by northbound and southbound traffic during the construction phasing to minimize traffic disruptions.   

The technical challenges associated with environmental, permitting, hydrologic, hydraulic, dam replacement and geotechnical aspects of the project will require expert evaluation, coordination, and implementation. We are eager to successfully assist the NHDOT on this exciting project.
