Selected for Concord, NH's Creative Downtown Legacy Project

With the City of Concord being the New Hampshire State capitol, Concord’s Main Street is essentially “New Hampshire’s Main Street” not only for its residents but for state tourists.   Concord 20/20 is a citizen involvement group supporting a smart growth vision in Concord: a vibrant downtown; walkable villages; environmental and historic preservation; access to nature; economic vitality; and people-friendly transportation.  Main Street Concord, Inc. was formed to revitalize downtown Concord while building its historic character.  It is with much pride that Hoyle, Tanner announces our selection by Concord 20/20, in cooperation with the City of Concord and Main Street Concord, Inc., for the City’s Downtown Legacy Project.

The Hoyle, Tanner team’s work under this contract entails the conceptual design of a ten block section of the City’s historic Main Street.  The work will include a combination of creative design ideas for traffic patterns, intersection and safety improvements, economic studies, landscape/streetscape improvements, and historic preservation.

Our team is comprised of Hoyle, Tanner; Carol R. Johnson & Associates, Inc. for landscape/streetscape and urban design; Applied Economic Research, Inc. for economic studies and recommendations for stimulating the economic vitality of the downtown; and Elizabeth Durfee Hengen who will serve as our historic preservation expert.

The Hoyle, Tanner team is excited and eager to be a part of the City of Concord’s vibrant and cultural revitalization on this high profile Downtown Legacy Project!
